"Escort Boys" Season 2: More Sex and More Stars

Premiered at the last Canneseries, the series Escort Boys will arrive this Friday on Prime Video for a second season, a little hotter than the first, which had already set the bar quite high. Escort Boys , as its name suggests, refers to four men, rather well-built and childhood friends, who, to save the beekeeping estate of their youth, fall into escorting. A series that subtly talks about the relationship to the body, sex, friendship, the precariousness of such a profession and the limits that we set for ourselves. Carried by a careful casting around the quartet Guillaume Labbé-Simon Ehrlacher-Thibaut Evrard-Corentin Fila but also the female trio composed of Marysole Fertard, Caterina Murino and Nadia Roz.

This second season, again directed by Ruben Alves, takes place six months after the events of the first season and the four boys are on the verge of realizing their hotel dream - opening a property in the Camargue - but they suddenly find themselves ousted from the project. To find the means to buy back their share, they must dive back into escorting. A suave second season in which a plethora of guests have been invited, and not the least: Josiane Balasko, Margot Bancilhon, Clara Morgane, Afida Turner, Laura Domenge, Thibault de Montalembert and Cristiana Reali.

A great cast for a second season that pushes the boundaries even further. "We wanted to rediscover the same pleasure of the first season, keeping the same codes while reinventing ourselves ," analyzes Ruben Alves, the director. "With a second season, we can take this time to really delve into the guts, the slightly darker side of this activity that is escorting. And as a result, it allows us to develop the characters in much more depth."

As an actor, is it a risk to venture into a series about escorts? Not necessarily, for Guillaume Labbé, who is fortunate to be very comfortable with his body: "By meeting Ruben and discussing how he wanted to film and his tastes, and by looking at his work, I quickly came to the conclusion that there was no risk. My body is also my working instrument."

Especially since the first season was so popular that iconic actresses loved taking part in the adventure, like Josiane Balasko. "It's a childhood dream to cast such an actress ," confesses Ruben Alves. "I've always loved her directing style, too, like in Gazon maudit ." Thibaut de Montalembert and Cristiana Reali, two other distinguished guests, were very motivated by the idea of ​​embarking on the adventure, according to Corentin Fila, one of the members of the quartet: " They are actors you wouldn't imagine in this kind of universe. And I was really surprised because they went all out."

Trust at the center of everything

A true gang series, this collegiality allows for more daring. "I had far fewer insecurities than in the first season," says Thibaut Evrard. "The fact that there are four of us in the same boat also helps you accept your body and your insecurities. This second season is different; it's deeper. And then, in the issue of what it's like to be an escort over time, how it impacts your personal life, I find it very interesting as a perspective."

The actors are unanimous, Escort Boys is a series based on the trust that must be had in one another. "From the moment you read the script, that you validated everything in your head, you cannot arrive on the set hiding. There is a mutual trust between the cast and Ruben", continues Thibaut Evrard. The trust is such that this whole lovely group would not be against leaving for a third season. And seeing how this second season dares even more - watch out for the second episode - we can't wait to see a possible sequel.
